The Air Discount Scheme (ADS)

The aim of the Air Discount Scheme (ADS) is to tackle the traditional problem of high air fares in the most peripheral parts of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Scheme membership is available to all those with their main residence in the Western Isles, Orkney, Shetland, Islay, Jura, Caithness and North West Sutherland. It provides a 40% discount on the core air fare on eligible routes. The Scheme is designed to facilitate improved social inclusion in the areas it covers. It covers those journeys within the eligible areas and to and from the main administrative and population centres of Scotland. The Scheme is also open to students from the eligible areas studying away from home.

Further information on the ADS, including how to apply for membership, is available online at the ADS website or by speaking to an ADS team member on freephone 0800 0322890.
