The Assembly of Planning and Policy Inputs (APPI) refers to the collection and processing of the Scottish Planning Data. This involves engaging with each Planning Authority in Scotland every two or three years to understand their vision of future planning allocations, development completions, redevelopment, demolitions and densification. This, in turn, informs Key Agency planning and investment decision-making processes.
The APPI information is used by LATIS as an input to a Land Use model, the Transport Economic Land-Use Model for Scotland (TELMoS:07). This will inform the management and development of the strategic transport network.
Scottish Water also have a need for such planning data to inform their strategic planning process. In recent years Scottish Water and Transport Scotland have undertaken a joint exercise to undertake the APPI process.
A range of data is required from each Scottish Planning authority. See data requirements.
