Data requirements

As part of the APPI data collection process, we request data from all Scottish Planning Authorities relating to:

  • Completions since 2006
  • What is expected to come forward for development in the period to 2032
  • Sites under construction
  • Planning Permissions
  • Allocations in plans (and draft plans)
  • Other proposals (masterplans, Education Authority Capital Programmes, etc)
  • Windfalls
  • Demolitions

The data should be on a site-by-site basis, classified into the following land uses:

  • Residential units (dwellings and type where it is known)
  • Retail development (square metres of floorspace)
  • Offices (square metres of floorspace)
  • Industrial (square metres of floorspace)
  • Leisure/hotel (square metres, beds/rooms for hotels)
  • Education (square metres, classes)
  • Health (square metres, type of development ie medical centre, hospital etc)

The data should be recorded in the APPI spreadsheet and questionnaire, templates for which can be found below:

The next APPI data collection exercise is expected to start in 2012.
