- Balance risks against desired outcomes using succinct analysis
- Use evidence to evaluate policies, projects and programmes
- Understand and use basic economic and statistical theories to interpret data appropriately
- Engage with relevant specialists to supply and evaluate all evidence
Band C - Financial Management
- Ensure that agreed objectives are delivered on time and within budget & delegated authority
- Work confidently and accurately with financial data in decision making
- Interpret trends & risks in financial management reports and investment appraisals
- Understand the wider public expenditure and financial decision making environment
- Set targets to improve the value achieved from resources
- Know when to involve and provide information to finance professionals
- Engage with procurement/commercial experts in acquisition projects
