  • 35 miles (49 km) of new passenger railway
  • Approx 50% double track
  • 10 stops
  • 7 new stations to be built
  • 1/2 hourly service at peak times
  • Travel direct from Tweedbank to Edinburgh Waverley in 55 minutes (or less)
  • Ancillary work starting 2010, main construction work 2011, completion 2014
  • Fully integrated to the main railway network
