About the proposals

The Forth Replacement Crossing (FRC) scheme will include the following key elements:

  • Artist's impression of three bridges

  • Use of the existing Forth Road Bridge as a dedicated public transport corridor for buses, taxis, pedestrians and cyclists
  • Motorway standard connecting roads which link to the A90 and M9 in the south, making use of the recently completed M9 spur
  • Motorway standard connecting roads linking the M90/A90 in the north, with junction enhancements at Ferrytoll and road widening between those junctions
  • Use of modern Intelligent Transport System technology along the full length of the scheme (22km)
