Environmental Statement

Transport Scotland will publish a detailed Environmental Statement for the FRC in November this year to support the Parliamentary Bill.  This important document will contain full details of the main environmental impacts of the proposed scheme and mitigation that is proposed to reduce these impacts.

The Environmental Statement will include the findings of the assessments and studies which have been undertaken for the project since the start of 2007 including:

  • Noise and vibration 
  • Pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians and community effects
  • Air quality
  • Cultural heritage
  • Ecology and nature conservation
  • Landscape and visual effects
  • Land use
  • Experience of vehicle travellers
  • Road drainage and water environment
  • Geology and soils
  • Construction impacts

This will be a publicly available document and accompanied by an executive summary outlining the key points.

Draft landscape plans and cross sections were published as part of the August Information displays and can be can be viewed in the Image Gallery.
