Topographical Surveys

Topographical surveys provide accurate details of ground levels and contours of the land. This is achieved through aerial surveys, suported by establishing ‘control points’ on the ground at certain locations and ground surveys carried out by survey teams using portable survey equipment.

Somerset-based specialists Blom Aerofilms began aerial photography for the topographical surveys at the end of March 2008.

An information leaflet – Environmental Surveys and Ground Investigations: Information for Landowners – provides landowners with an overview of the kinds of surveys and investigations that may be necessary and what they entail.
