How did you become involved in archaeology?
I really liked history when I was younger and wanted to find out more about it, but mainly to annoy my mother.
What aspect of the job do you enjoy the most?
Everyday is different and it’s important to protect the heritage and record it for the future. I also love working outside with great people.
What has been your most interesting find?
During an excavation of the Hill of Rath, I excavated a stoned lined grave with a couple in it. It was very sweet, as the man was turned as to protect his woman who was laid on her back. Also during an excavation on Orkney, I found a fishing hook.
What are your interests outside work?
Computer games, writing short stories and screen plays. At the moment I am writing a screen play for ‘28 Days Later’.
