How did you become involved in archaeology?
I always wanted to be an archaeologist so after school I volunteered with Headland Archaeology for six months. I then did an archaeology degree at Bradford University, during which I took a year out to work in commercial archaeology. I came to Glasgow to do a Masters degree in Medieval Archaeology and then returned to commercial archaeology.
What aspect of the job do you enjoy the most?
Working with great people, everyday is a challenge and working outside.
What has been your most interesting find?
During an excavation in South Shields I found a phallic Roman brooch.
What are your interests outside work?
Reading, walking in the countryside and socialising.
