Tradeston/Port Eglinton Sites

HAPCA excavated four parcels of land around Tradeston, Kingston and Port Eglinton.

In October and November 2007, archaeological trial trenches were excavated on ten land parcels in this area.  As a result of the trial trenches, four of the land parcels were chosen for more in-depth excavations.  These are Land Parcels 2, 3 and 4 on Scotland Street, and Land Parcel 7 on Mauchline Street.

The names of the land parcels are:

Land Parcel 2 - Kinning Street Engine Works and Kingston Biscuit Factory

Land Parcel 3 - Kingston Lime Works and Kinning Street Tenements

Land Parcel 4 - Caledonia Foundry and Scotland Street Engine Works

Land Parcel 7 – Falfield Mills
