Borders Railway Project
The Borders Railway Project is in progress, with the ultimate aim of re-establishing a rail link providing passenger services between Edinburgh and the central Borders.

Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine Rail Link
The railway line re-opened in May 2008 and the project is now complete. 

Larkhall to Milngavie Rail Project
The Larkhall to Milngavie Rail Project involved the creation of a 4.7 kilometre electrified single track branch line extending south east from near Hamilton. This project has now been completed. 

Edinburgh Waverley Station
A project to transform Edinburgh Waverley - to meet passengers' needs – improve station access and capacity for more trains was completed in 2008.

Edinburgh Tram Link Project
A fixed light rail network will be constructed throughout the outskirts and city centre of Edinburgh.

Airdrie to Bathgate Rail Link Project
This project will link the existing Airdrie rail branch to the existing Bathgate branch by providing an electrified double tracked line between Drumgelloch and Bathgate.
