Impact on travel
As most of the construction work will be off-line, traffic management will only be required at the tie-ins. The contractor will be required to produce a traffic management plan to demonstrate that delays will be kept to a minimum.

Traffic management
Traffic Management requirements shall be minimal. It is predicted there will only be the need to restrict flow of traffic when the tie-ins are undertaken. This will be considered further when the detailed design is undertaken.

Environmental impact
Numerous surveys have been undertaken. The environmental impacts of the new alignment have been identified, for mitigation, in the Environmental Statement which was published on 27 June 2008. Previous surveys have shown that protected species populate the area.
