Edinburgh-Glasgow Improvement Project

The Edinburgh-Glasgow Improvement Project (EGIP) is a comprehensive programme of improvements to Scotland's railway infrastructure, rolling stock and service provision that will provide a major boost to the wealth of Scotland and its long term economic sustainability. Significant progress with the programme has already been made which includes the delivery of key infrastructure improvements at Haymarket tunnel and new services on the Edinburgh Glasgow via Shotts Line.

Network Rail are currently undertaking a public consultation for EGIP until January 2012.
