This project is important both for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and for the wider east end regeneration work. The modernised station will include a new entrance on to Dalmarnock Road, a large concourse area, a new ticket office, passenger information systems and the potential for retail outlets. The building will be fully DDA compliant with passenger lifts.
Transport Scotland has responsibility for managing the project, on behalf of the funding partners; Clyde Gateway, Glasgow City Council, and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport. The project is being delivered by Network Rail and is due for completion in November 2013.
