Edinburgh Tram Link project

The Scottish Government has provided a capped funding contribution of £500 million to the Edinburgh tram project.

The City of Edinburgh Council is responsible for the management of the project. Full details are available from the dedicated Edinburgh Trams website.

A team of experienced project managers from Transport Scotland will work closely with the Council's own team to provide strong managerial and technical assistance to ensure the delivery of the tram project. As part of the agreement with the City of Edinburgh Council, Ministers will have the power to direct strategic project decisions and will be given regular progress updates from the project team.
