The improvement works will result in the following benefits:
Relieving traffic congestion at peak times on the M8, M73 and M74 motorway network in the vicinity of Baillieston and Maryville Interchanges
Reducing delays for strategic traffic and allowing safe access for all users, thus providing improved journey time reliability and safety
Reducing predicted North-South (M80-M74) delays by up to 18 minutes in the evening peak hour and predicted West East (M74-M8) delays by up to 6 minutes in the morning peak hour.
