Station quality of ScotRail operated stations is monitored as part of the Service Quality Incentive Regime (SQUIRE). Performance results are published quarterly on the Transport Scotland website and can be shown by station, by train, or by line of route.
There are some areas where there are rail stations that are located in close proximity. In the Glasgow commuter area there are 11 stations located less than one mile from another rail station offering similar services and there are three other stations in other parts of Scotland. The distances are estimated based on the actual distance passengers would be displaced if walking to the nearest alternative station.
