A subsidised passenger ferry service between Gourock town centre and Dunoon town centre is currently operated by Cowal Ferries Ltd on behalf of Scottish Ministers.

On 7 June 2011, following a competitive tendering process, AFL was awarded a 6-year contract to operate this ferry service. The contract runs from 2011 until 2017. A copy of the contract is available.
